Reviving Clifftown’s Bowling Green:
A Heritage Renewal Project

The Green
We aim to create an inclusive, welcoming space for current and future generations. Our goals include reinstating the railings, renovating the current boundary wall and restoring the entrance gates to their former glory.

The Local Environment
We intend to deepen understanding and appreciation of urban green spaces by creating a peaceful garden, fostering biodiversity through habitat development, and offering educational opportunities that connect people with nature in the city.

Clifftown's Heritage
As part of the regeneration project, we’re creating a heritage exhibition that brings the green’s history to life. A dynamic ‘talking bench’ will share stories from a century of bowling, while thoughtfully placed lecterns in the revitalised garden will highlight key moments from Clifftown's past. Through these interactive elements, visitors can explore the rich tapestry of local narratives, deepening their connection to the green and its role in Clifftown's heritage.

The Local Community
By preserving this historical site and promoting it's rich local history, we hope to instil pride and continuity among residents. This project will serve as a catalyst for social interactions, creating a sustainable, enduring positive impact on the local environment and community.
